• Install the Hawk card(s) in the PC.
• Create your Data General disk images as container files on PC – host disk(s).
• Move your application and all other software, including the – operating system (Rdos AOS . homebrew, whatever) to the – PC container file(s).
• Edit the sample Hawk.CNF file to reflect your old Nova or – Eclipse configuration.
• Reboot the PC and run your Nova or Eclipse application on – the Osprey/PC
• Retire the Nova or Eclipse.

Hawk I/O Factron Upgrade Kit. Includes software patches for 303 (P/N 9417 I/O-303) and 333 (P/N 9417 I/O-333) testers. Two 5.5 ft. (1.7 m) ribbon cables and two adapters (50 pin ribbon to 50 pin DSub) are also provided.

Rack Mountable Hawk/PC Chassis. (P/N 9381) A slide-in replacement for a Nova/Eclipse. A 10.5 inch (267 mm) high chassis with a 5-position Nova/Eclipse backplane and card cage, 450 watt power supply, cooling and rack slides. Accommodates up to five DG-compatible 15" x 15" (381 x 381mm) boards, a PC motherboard, diskette drive and up to three visible half-height disk drive bays and one internal half-height drive bay.

B/E Board Backplane Extender for Nova/Eclipse. (P/N 9286-1015) 15" x 15" Backplane Adapter. Not to be used in production environment. Used with any I/O bus adapter during installation of Hawk system. DOSLink. RDOS utility that transfers files between RDOS and DOS.

9-Track Tape Systems (DG Compatible). Hawk software drivers support for the Overland TX-8 or Electrovalue E1632-F controllers are included with Hawk support. Either tape subsystem supports any FORMATTED Pertec-compatible tape transport (800, 1600, 3200, 6250 bpi). NANOS. Virtually a Superset of RDOS, a real-time, multi-tasking, multi-user disk operating system with RDOS compatible commands and disk file structure, supporting up to 16 simultaneous users or grounds. Includes Hawk-specific performance enhancements such as pseudo DMA handling of TTY, QTY, ULM and ALM character output streams by the PC host.
