Disaster Recovery
Disaster
recovery and co-location are areas many IT Professionals are more
concerned with since the events of September 11th.
Because we have over $2 million dollars in inventory,
BL is able to offer a more affordable solution than other companies
who have to purchase hardware for each client and then pass that
cost on in addition to the service fees. BL Trading has partnered
with co-location providers on the east and west coasts to provide
several levels of Disaster Recovery Services:
Basic Disaster Recovery
We will deliver, to your site, within 48 hours after disaster declaration,
equipment sufficient to return your data center to a functional
state of operation. The definition of functional will
be agreed to in advance by both parties. Annual testing is not available,
but annual or semi-annual review of equipment availability will
be done. This equipment will be purchased at time of delivery to
your site after declaration of disaster.
Cold Site
Equipment is kept available at our site. Within 48 hours of disaster
being declaration we will configure equipment to your needs. Equipment
is non-dedicated and outside connectivity issues must be arranged
in advance. Systems will be available for testing annually. After
declaration, equipment will be available for your use for 30 days
and may be moved to a location of your choice. Equipment is available
for purchase at the end of the disaster period.
Basic Hot Site
All equipment will be dedicated and pre-configured. It may be located
at our site, a co-location site or at your site. Equipment will
be available for testing 5X8 weekdays or by appointment. Equipment
will be kept up operational and available with 24-hour notice. Software
restoration and testing will be managed and performed by the customer.
After disaster declaration, equipment will be available for your
use for 30 days. Equipment is available for purchase at the end
of the disaster period.
Full Availability Hot
Site
We supply dedicated equipment fully configured and running 7X24.
Located either at our site, a Co-location facility or at site ,
if it is within our coverage area. Equipment will be available for
your use immediately upon declaration of disaster. We will provide
staff, as needed, for an additional prearranged fee, to perform
system administration and operator tasks. Customer specific training
for our staff would be provided in advance by the customer. After
declaration of disaster, equipment will be available for your use
for 30 days. Equipment is available for purchase at the end of the
disaster period.
NOTE: These descriptions are to be used as
a guide and are based on common configuration models. Each contract
will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
It is easy to see that using BL Tradings comprehensive
service is more cost-effective than for businesses to purchase and
implement their own offsite data storage and management facility.
