A Permeon storage system consists of Permeon software on a cluster of networked storage servers and portal servers. The cluster of storage servers, also called a clique, stores the data. The portal servers provide application access to the Permeon storage cluster via the NFS or CIFS file access protocols. The system administrator manages Permeon through a graphical web-based management console running on a Permeon portal server.
