Silkworm 12000

The Brocade SilkWorm 12000 Director provides enterprise-class port density and high availability while delivering up to 128 ports of connectivity in a single, highly available chassis.Based on third-generation Brocade ASIC technology, the SilkWorm 12000 supports 1 and 2 Gbit/sec Fibre Channel as well as a suite of Brocade Advanced Fabric Services that simplify the design, administration, and management of large SANs. High-availability features include a fully redundant design, no single point of failure, and hot-swappable components.

Built upon a protocol-independent architecture, the SilkWorm 12000 is designed to support new protocols such as FICON, iSCSI, and FCIP as they emerge for storage networking applications. In addition, it provides FICON support in mainframe environments.
